So, the children are back at school and all is going well! It feels nice but a tad strange that no one calls me ten times a day asking me to pick up little man from school! This time last year, I was to scared to even leave the house and venture out to far in case I was called by an unhappy head-teacher demanding I collect my distracting child right away! I actually went with a friend and baby H, to Honeydale farm yesterday, which is around 18 miles away from my home, it felt fantastic to be this carefree for a change.
With the rest of the day to waste, me and H snuggled down on the sofa and watched, “Humf and the fluffy thing” We were sent the DVD a few weeks back and had been asked to check it out prior to its formal release. What’s even better is that I get to give one away to one of you lucky readers!
Humf and the Fluffy Thing is the brand new delightful adventures of what is undoubtedly, the rising star of pre-school television. Due to be released on 12th September 2011 from Entertainment One, this highly anticipated DVD includes a bonus disc containing an additional 6 episodes absolutely free! Narrated by leading British actress, Caroline Quentin, Humf is the story of a lovely furry thing who is full of wonder at the world and is always eager to explore new things. Humf and the fluffy thing has an RRP price of £9.99 and is a cert U
With Humf books and toys due to hit our UK stores this autumn, It’s all going on!
Did we enjoy watching the DVD?
Well, Little H loved it! We don’t have the Nick Jr channel, so this was new to us.
H is 21 months old and was griped. A very colourful production that keeps even the youngest of toddlers engaged.
Now… Don’t get me wrong, we love Cbeebies in this house, Yet a little bit of Humf was a pleasant change. Each episode is around five minutes long, which is ideal for young children as it stops them becoming bored.
The stories were great, and even I loved the one about the late night party and Humf’s sleeping issues.
Warning
The theme tune is dead catchy (the type that gets stuck in your head)! Do not be surprised if you find yourself humming the tune while engaging in your household chores, taking a shower, or worse dancing and seemingly enjoying it!
So, now you know what music I listen to these days, Lets give one of these beauties away!

Thanks for sharing.
My all time children’s show was Postman Pat. It used to come on just after lunch and my daughter and I would sit cuddled up on the sofa to watch. I would lightly doze (confession time) and if she commented and laughed at bits I would give an non-committal, ‘mmmm’ which seemed to cover all bases. Sometimes it came on in Gaelic as ‘Pàdraig Post’ but it didn’t seem to make a difference and sometimes we never even noticed. I knitted a Postman Pat doll and Jess the Cat and they are still around somewhere. Need to drag them out for grandchildren now, even though Pat is getting old! We used to listen to the music and songs non stop. Love Humf too and yes the tune is catchy!
