I’m really excited to bring you this review and competition.
Chewigem is a product that has been specially designed for children that like to chew!By this I mean children who chew they’re clothing, hair and other non chewable items such as pencils or pen tips.
Some children with SPD (sensory processing disorder) or those on the autism spectrum feel the need to chew. This is often related to the child’s senses, many seek some kind of sensory input.
Little man tends to chew when he is concentrating. If he is working on something in school he has been known to chew the ends of his pencils, coming home with lead all around his month. This also happens at home if his writing or drawing. It doesn’t matter what his using, pen, pencils, markers, all are placed in his mouth.
Though it’s not just children like little man on the spectrum who have the need to chew. Children who have no developmental delays or neurological conditions can also have the need to chew. This is true for my daughter who tends to chew her sleeves especially when engaged in the TV or when on the PC, she makes them all yucky and wet.
This is why Chewigem is fantastic for both Little man and his sister Alice-Sara
Chewigem comes in the form of a stylish unisex necklace. It’s designed to not only look great but offer your child a discreet way to chew (this was a great benefit for little man who doesn’t like to stand out from the crowd).
The pendent is the chewable part of the necklace. It is non toxic silicone that’s soft but also strong and flexible.
All pendents come on an extendable cord that has been fitted with a breakaway safety clasp to ensure maximum safety.
All Chewigems can be removed from the cord and washed in hot water. They are also dishwasher and steriliser safe.
Another great feature of the chewigem is that it can also work as a fidget which is particularly useful for children with autism and ADHD.
Alice-Sara seems to have hers around her neck all the time, where I’m certain Little man will get the maximum benefit from his when he returns back to school .
Chewigems Come in four designs and a range of colours my favourite being, ‘Candy Confusion’
