What does your cocktail choice say about you

19 Nov

I seriously love eating at frankie and bennys. I’m addicted to their famous spaghetti and meatballs and think the desserts are to die for!

I recently took my younger sister along to the one in Greenwich London, for a cocktail tasting season (well, that and some spaghetti and meatballs of course)!

As always both the food and service was spot on. We had a starter of warm dough sticks with garlic butter (tastes great but be warned it sticks to the hips). And as mentioned a oversized plate of spaghetti and meatballs.

Now, as lovely as the desserts are, with our tummies fit to burst we had to take a rain check. However, we did enjoy some rather fabulous cocktails before, during and after the meal… I know we kinda drunk like fish.

Then again this is why we were here! Frankie & Benny’s has launched its new cocktail menu with the aim to encourage mums to take time out and sip on a delicious cocktail.

Personally, I just love the Appletini
Which is said to be a fun and flirty cocktail that is perfect for ladies who just want to have fun… And boy did I need some of that. The Appletini is Packed with Eristoff vodka, pressed apple juice and gingerbread syrup. This was a seriously tasty cocktail.

I also tried a number if others from the new cocktail menu. The Cosmopolitan again was fabulous, though I wasn’t that keen on the mojito which I used to love drinking when in Spain. I think this was because I could taste the tonic water which I don’t really like so this one was definitely my least favourite.

So…. What does your cocktail of choice say about you?

Ladies who can’t resist a bit of spice will love this cool Cuban cocktail. Made with fresh lime, mint and sugar, plus a generous splash of Bacardi rum, a mojito drinker is sure to be the first on the dance floor, ready to spice up any night.

This fun and flirty drink is perfect for ladies who just want to have fun. Packed with Eristoff vodka, pressed apple juice and gingerbread syrup, this delightful drink is sure to get the party started.

A sexy and sassy Cosmopolitan is a great choice for those who like to keep it classic. This zingy and zesty drink comprises vodka, triple sec and cranberry juice creating a cool and crisp taste. Cosmo ladies love a bit of city glamour and always paint the town pink.

Classic Sour
For ladies who like to be adventurous, this quirky cocktail is available with Jack Daniels, Amaretto or Midori and finished with fresh lemon juice, egg whites for added smooth and is topped off with sugar. It’s the ideal choice for someone who likes to stand out from the crowd.

Espresso Martini
This rich and sumptuous drink is ideal for ladies looking for a classic cocktail with a twist. Fresh espresso teamed with vodka and a coffee liqueur offers an instant caffeine hit, a brilliant blend for any modern mum who is in need of a pick-me-up!

Gentle Breeze
A delicious non-alcoholic cocktail for those who like to behave rather than rave! This drink combines a delicious blend of apple juice, cranberry and citrus juices and is served over ice, offering the designated driver something delightful to sip on.

For ladies with a mysterious edge, this deliciously dark cocktail is a tasty mix of Bombay Sapphire gin and black raspberry liqueur. An added kick of fresh lemon means this drink really packs a punch.

Well, given I’m more of a Appletini & Cosmopolitan kinda girl… Its said that my chosen cocktail makes me a lady who is crying out to have some fun and is up for painting the town pink! I gotta hand it to frankie & Bennys, I make them right!

Frankie & Benny’s – A Review

10 Apr

When I was asked if I’d like to review the new Frankie and Benny’s menu I jumped at the opportunity especially since the new Greenwich restaurant which overlooks the river and the cutty sark had just opened.

I was set to take all three children but right at the last-minute Little man went to stay at his cousins, given this is something he doesn’t do often I decided to take my mum along instead.

Frankie and Benny’s is an Italian restaurant with a 1950 New York American dinning experience.

This is a restaurant that offers everything from breakfast to dinner and the deserts are rumoured to be out of this world.

We arrived at the New Frankie and Benny’s Greenwich, a little after 8.30 pm, we were shown to a table straight away and the children were handed some activities packs which kept them entertained.

The service was excellent and the menu packed with all sorts of treats from New Yorker burgers to an array of pasta dishes.

The children get their own menu which is amazingly priced a just £3.99 (this includes the main, dessert and a soft drink) I was shocked at how well sized the children’s potions were for the price.

The chefs prepare the food right there in front of you, the smells that were oozing out of the kitchen area were delightful.

As for drinks… WOW! Myself and Mother were unable to resist the temptation of the cocktail menu with Pina Colada being our drink of choice. At almost a fiver these were no more expensive than anywhere else.

For such a lovely dinning experience I was surprised at how well priced Frankie and Benny’s is. There is a special’s menu available which consists of some of its finest mains and desserts. The menu is priced at £10.95 and your able to add an additional course for a tiny 2.25.

Mum choose something from the special, the New Yorker Burger with Salad instead of Chips, she loved the salad stating she could eat it all day.

I however didn’t choose anything from the special’s but opted for Spaghetti & Meatballs which was huge but tasted amazing.

Mum also ordered some warm dough sticks with garlic butter which the toddler went crazy for.

My daughter opted for  sausage and mash where’s the toddler had Spaghetti Bolognese.

No complaints with the desserts, these were incredible. The children both had ice cream sundaes which came with a packet of Cadbury’s buttons to decorate. Of course this went down a treat.

Myself and mother both opted for Mamma’s crumble with a scope of ice-cream… seriously yummy.

As the restaurant is fairly new it wasn’t overly busy at the time we visited which was nice, through I can just imagine what a hit this will be in the summer.

All came to around £45.00 which in my opinion was fantastic value for what we ordered.

The staff were lovely and really fantastic with the children! At one point the toddler decided to dash his remaining Apple juice across the table, we were moved to a clean area to eat why staff set about cleaning up, which was awesome.

Check out our review video below… trust me the food does taste as good as it looks.
